Dr. Akbar, a graduate of King Edward Medical College in Lahore, Pakistan, served his residency in Otolaryngology-Head and NeckSurgery at Temple University in Philadelphia.
Prior to this, he completed two years of surgical residency at Long Island College
Hospital, Brooklyn, New York and Logan Memorial Hospital in NewYork City.
Certified by the Board of Otolaryngology, he is a fellow of the
American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.
Dr. Akbar is a fellow of the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head
and Neck Surgery-
and the American Academy of Otolaryngic Allergy.
He is also a Fellow of the International College of Surgeons and
a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
